The hydraulic valves like any other valves have basic parts that must be familiarized with to be able to do correct maintenance and identify correct parts when you need to buy for spare or replacement parts. There are parts that easily worn out so you must be able to identify them and make sure that you have a list for your future ordering from your supplier. There are parts that must be monitored constantly so that you can replace them immediately when signs of deterioration and wear are seen. Refer to article how to maintain a hydraulic valve to know the importance of each parts for maintenance and repairs.
There are basic components of a hydraulic valve. It is composed of a body, bonnet, disc and a seat. The body is the outer shell of the valve. The bonnet is the outside casing that is usually removed to facilitate easy repairs and check-up. The disc is the seal that will assure that no leakage will happen to the valve when connected to the hose. The seat is where the valve is connected.
The inside parts of the valve are responsible for the correct function of the valve. The flow will be regulated based on the design of the inner parts. A tapered cylinder will regulate the amount of fluid and pressure that are passing through it. Most valves have backflow preventer to make sure that the fluid will not flow in the wrong direction. A filter is also recommended to avoid debris and other contamination to enter the valve. A valve is usually connected to a pump so there is a filter between them to avoid other contaminants from penetrating. Usually a high pressure filter is installed for this system. Fittings, o-rings and other small parts are also used to assure proper connection of the valve to the hose connecting to the machine and avoid leakage.
The control of the valve should also be identified properly to be able to know its parts and ordering spare units will be easier. There are different controls ranging from simple to complicated controls depending on what your system needs and how your machine operates. Complicated controls may need electrical parts and must be designed by professionals who understand controls. Basic on and off controls are usually available for machines that are not complicated and easy to operate.
Parts of a hydraulic valve must be identified properly. You can ask for a complete parts list from supplier to be able to order parts that are easy to worn out. There are parts that needs precision so you must consider ordering original parts or from machine shops with precision machines. You must know how each part functions and how easy they worn out to be able to prepare the number of units you need to order for your spare and avoid unnecessary downtime due to no spares. You can properly take care of your valves once you know which parts to monitor first and maintain properly.
